Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, in which casino wagering is illegal. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling hall, features 150 one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that contains numerous comforts on top of the casino, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 table games.
