The biggest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming area, 1,500 slots, 30 table games, like blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several varieties of poker; also 3 dining rooms, monthly productions, and gambling instructions. Another large Amerindian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and 4 restaurants. There are many other dominant Iowa gambling dens, which includes Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river boat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa river boat casino, The Isle of Capri, is available all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot riverboat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday blackjack events.

Iowa casinos provide an excellent amount of tax revenue to the state of Iowa, which has allowed the bankrolling of many state wide activities. Tourism has increased at a rapid rate accompanied with the demand for companies and a gain in employment. Iowa casinos have contributed to the advancement of the economy, and the enthusiasm for gaming in Iowa is across the board.
