Cambodia Gambling Dens

[ English ]

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is banned. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling hall, features 150 one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel compound that highlights many luxuries on top of the gambling den, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 tables.
